Terms of Service

Last updated: July 13, 2026

These terms govern your use of FocusRetro. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. They are written to be read, not skimmed past — the plain-language summary of each section is the section itself.

1. The service

FocusRetro (“we”, “us”) is an online retrospective and team-feedback tool available at focusretro.com and app.focusretro.com, operated from within the European Union. It lets teams run retrospective boards, vote, track action items, run team health checks, and connect optional integrations such as Jira and Slack.

2. Your account

You sign in with Google or, on eligible plans, through your company’s SSO. You are responsible for activity that happens in your workspaces and for making sure you have the right to invite the people you invite. You must be at least 16 years old to use FocusRetro.

3. Guests and invite links

Boards can be shared with guests through invite links. Anyone with a valid link can join the board it points to, so treat links with the same care as the content behind them. Facilitators can restrict boards, protect them with passwords, and revoke access.

4. Plans, trials, and billing

  • The Starter plan is free. Paid plans and their limits are described on our pricing page, and paid plans include a 14-day trial.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
  • You can cancel at any time from your workspace billing settings or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
  • Except where the law requires otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable. If we change prices, we will announce the change in advance and it will apply from your next renewal.

5. Your content

Everything your team puts on a board — cards, votes, comments, action items — belongs to you. You grant us the limited license we need to host, transmit, and display that content in order to run the service, and nothing more. You are responsible for the content you and your invited participants add and for having the right to share it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service for anything unlawful, or upload content that is illegal, harassing, or infringes someone else’s rights;
  • probe, disrupt, or overload the service, or attempt to access data or accounts that are not yours;
  • resell or white-label the service without our written agreement;
  • use automated means to scrape or bulk-extract content that is not yours.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Where reasonable, we will warn you first.

7. Integrations

Optional integrations (such as Jira and Slack) connect FocusRetro to third-party services under their own terms. We store the credentials needed to operate an integration encrypted, and you can disconnect an integration at any time, which revokes our access.

8. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep FocusRetro fast and available, but the service is provided “as is” without a guaranteed uptime level unless we have agreed one with you in writing. We continuously improve the product and may add, change, or retire features; if we retire something significant, we will give notice.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect damages such as lost profits or lost data caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and if you use FocusRetro as a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.

10. Termination

You can stop using FocusRetro and request deletion of your account at any time (see our Privacy Policy). We may terminate or suspend accounts for material breach of these terms. On termination, your right to use the service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as liability and content ownership) survive.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union member state in which FocusRetro is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

12. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify account owners by email before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms.
